Serving the citizens of the region
WSU is deeply committed to delivering knowledge and the benefits of research activities to citizens throughout the state, nation, and world. That commitment to improving the quality of life for everyone springs from the University’s land-grant heritage and a tradition of service to society.
In order to fulfill this mission, WSU has extension offices in each of Washington’s 39 counties that provide research-based educational programs and services to individuals, businesses, and communities. In addition, 10 learning centers, operating on both sides of the Cascade Mountains, offer access to the University’s degrees and college and career counseling.
Key agricultural research stations are located in Lind, Mount Vernon, Othello, Prosser, Puyallup, and Wenatchee. The state’s Small Business Development Centers, a cooperative effort of WSU and several other organizations, are scattered throughout western, central, and eastern Washington.
